Hello!
I am an Assistant Professor at the Anton Pannekoek Institute for Astronomy of the University of Amsterdam (UvA). Before I was an Open Science Teacher at TU Delft and a postdoctoral researcher and NWO VENI laureate at the Leiden Observatory.

I am a theoretical astrochemist with an interest in the Origin of Life and my research focuses on the origin and evolution of Cosmic Carbon in the Universe (Candian et al, Physics Today, (2018), 71, 11, 39)

I am the coordinator of the interdisciplinary minor Origins Interspecial, offered to bachelor students studying science topics. More information about the minor can be found following this link: Origins Interspecial You can find an interview about the motivation for this minor at the following link: C2W Interview

Open Science and Equity, Diversity and Inclusion are topics close to my heart. I am a member of the board of the Women in the Faculty of Science (WiF) Network at UvA and a member of the EDI committee at API.

When not researching or teaching, I love to read good books and play with my daughter. Also, I am an amateur B&W photographer and a Hatha Yoga practitioner.
